St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish . Madison, Wisconsin
We, the faith community of Saint Thomas Aquinas, united with the Church throughout the world, are called by God to bring the Good News of the Gospel into the life of our community.
We strive to serve each other in a spirit of compassion and love, and to enhance justice, peace and healing in our midst.
We strive also, through our common prayer and worship with the Lord who nourishes us, to enable the gifts of the Spirit to emerge from each one of us and become more fully the disciples of Christ.

Laudato Si’: On the Care of Our Common Home

61. … [W]e need only take a frank look at the facts to see that our common home is falling into serious disrepair. Hope would have us recognize that there is always a way out, that we can always redirect our steps, that we can always do something to solve our problems. Still, we can see signs that things are now reaching a breaking point, due to the rapid pace of change and degradation… “If we scan the regions of our planet, we immediately see that humanity has disappointed God’s expectations”.[35]

Pope Francis has given our Church a powerful encyclical about care for “our common home,” articulating a systematic, moral foundation to how we can work to address climate change. To help understand this challenging document, we offer you the following links to resources related to the encyclical.
