St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish . Madison, Wisconsin
We, the faith community of Saint Thomas Aquinas, united with the Church throughout the world, are called by God to bring the Good News of the Gospel into the life of our community.
We strive to serve each other in a spirit of compassion and love, and to enhance justice, peace and healing in our midst.
We strive also, through our common prayer and worship with the Lord who nourishes us, to enable the gifts of the Spirit to emerge from each one of us and become more fully the disciples of Christ.

Funeral Planning

The loss of a loved one is likely the most difficult experience any of us undergo. Please contact the parish office at 833-2600 as soon as possible for assistance planning a funeral. Area funeral homes should notify the parish before making any arrangements to coordinate schedules.

Preplanning funerals with the parish can be a real gift to your family in a time of sorrow. Each year the parish offers preplanning workshops to review the options for Church rituals at the time of death. Considerations for all families include: Visitation hours and location; Funeral Mass readings, music and family participation; final committal prayer at the cemetery; parish luncheons; and other individual family needs.

Once a year on All Souls Day – The Commemoration of the Faithful Departed – November 2, the whole Church prays for all those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. The parish celebrates this special day with an evening candle-light Mass. Throughout the month of November we have a special display honoring those we have lost in the past year.
