St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish . Madison, Wisconsin
We, the faith community of Saint Thomas Aquinas, united with the Church throughout the world, are called by God to bring the Good News of the Gospel into the life of our community.
We strive to serve each other in a spirit of compassion and love, and to enhance justice, peace and healing in our midst.
We strive also, through our common prayer and worship with the Lord who nourishes us, to enable the gifts of the Spirit to emerge from each one of us and become more fully the disciples of Christ.

Becoming Catholic

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process for welcoming new members into the Catholic family of faith. The RCIA was restored at Vatican II and is modeled on our most ancient Christian traditions of conversion and initiation. The process consists of four periods and a number of liturgical rituals that mark and celebrate the journey of faith.

  • Inquiry
  • Catechumenate
  • Purification and Enlightenment
  • Mystagogia: Living the Mystery

The first step is to meet one on one with the director of adult formation and outreach. At this meeting you will have an opportunity to ask questions and find out about the process. There is no obligation to continue with the RCIA process if it does not seem to be the right fit at this time.

Typically the group meets on Sunday mornings, beginning in the fall.
